My current job can be extremely tedious at times. Today for example we only managed $20 of trade all day, a single pair of child's socks. This means we have to amuse ourselves in any way we can. Luckily for my colleagues and even if I say so myself, I have an amazing knack for inventing games. So far I've introduced the guys to such corkers as:
- Personality Guess Who - In very much the same way as normal Guess Who, each player takes it in turns to ask questions about their opponents selected character. The only difference is that you can't ask questions about their appearance, only their personality. For example, "Is this person on the sex offenders register?" or "Do they hold a grudge?". Considering there's technically no right or wrong answers, its amazing how often you can get it right.
- European Stationary Battleships - Using two identical maps of Europe, 2 rubbers, 2 rounds of staples, 2 bottles of Tipex and and 2 paperclips, each player takes it in turns to drop bombs on European countries and try to destroy their opponents strategically positioned stationary army.
- Water Bottle Bowling - Exactly as the title suggests, bowling at water bottles. To spice things up try using a rugby ball.
- Hot Pie Russian Roulette - Get a pack of 6 mini pies from the supermarket and heat them all in the microwave until warm. Remove 5 of them and put the remaining pie back in for another 5 minutes until its filling is the similar in temperature to molten lava. Put them all back on the plate and let the microwave spin for about 15 seconds longer, until the extra hot pie's position is unknown. all players then have to pick a pie up and put it in there mouths simultaneously. The looser is the person who receives 2nd degree burns to their tongue and palate.
I'm sure there are plenty more where they come from. When I come up with more I'll let you know the rules so you too can get through those boring moments at work.
