My Adventures began on the 16th January 2009 and today marks the 6 month anniversary of my departure from British soil. It's been a quite fantastic journey so far and one I feel isn't quite ready to finish just yet. Lately I've been made aware of a rumour circulating around Wymondham that I may never return, so I thought it was about time I cleared the matter up.
Next month I leave for New Zealand to be reunited with Rory and from there we travel to China, which was always the plan. From Beijing we were supposed to fly home to England and I believe Rory still intends to do this. However, I don't feel too excited about the prospect of returning to the real world just yet so I've decided to extend my travels until further notice. I have a working Visa here in Australia until March 2010 and a job that I thoroughly enjoy, so initially I intend to see my visa out. I've also been fortunate enough to be offered sponsorship so I may even be able to stay a little longer with any luck. After Australia I shall have to see where my money can take me. I'm extremely interested in a visit to South America and have a tour of Europe pencilled in for the return stretch, but if there is one thing I've learnt thus far its to take each day as it comes and try not to make too many plans.
As for a return to Wymondham, I can honestly say I'm looking forward to it already. I'm certainly not homesick in the slightest, but there are a few things I miss. The Feathers, the football teams, friends and family. But for the moment they shall have to wait as the world is a big place and there is still a lot more of it I wish to see before I return.
Until then, please keep in touch as I love reading your emails and hearing feedback about the website.
