Included in our tour package was a nights camel safari in the deserts surrounding Jaisalmer. Parker drove us about an hour out of the main town and left us in the company of two old camel drivers and their camels. The sun was roasting and about to set, so we mounted our camels and shot of into the desert post-haste.
After a bouncy ride we eventually dismounted our camels and sat down on the dunes awaiting the suns departure. As mild entertainment we had a turban rolling competition and although it saddens me to admit it, Rory won hands down.
After this we popped back to Camel HQ to grab some tea and a few blankets then headed back out to the dunes to sleep under the stars. The evening was slightly crisp so we hunted around with the help of the moonlight for some dry wood and got a little camp fire going. This experience was worth the ticket to India alone. Absolutely loved it.
