The Omelette Man

We have now landed in Jodhpur, the blue city. Its called that because the majority of buildings within the city walls have been painted blue to help combat the heat and repel mosquitos. Bit of a old wives tale because it was whilst sitting in a blue building that I received my first bite.

We were wondering the streets of Jodhpur when we came across the Omelette Man. Mr Omelette once ran a basic hotel in the city but had his fortune changed when a Lonely Planet author wrongly published an article on his hotel calling it the "Omelette Shop". The article stated that Mr Omelette produced the best omelettes in India but failed to mention the pretty poor hotel at all. Mr Omelette followed this omen and concentrated solely on egg based cuisine. He now uses over 1000 eggs a day and has become a living legend with both locals and travellers alike. Rory and I sampled his take on the masala cheese omelette and were not disappointed.
